[CCN-Adapt] Adaptation to Interactive Impacts of Climate Change and Nitrogen Deposition on Biodiversity

Runtime: 2013 – 2016

Funding: ACRP (Austrian Climate Research Programme)

Description

Effects among two or more simultaneously acting drivers are a major challenge for predicting the threat to biodiversity under global change. Climate change and airborne nitrogen deposition exert strongly interacting effects. However, we do not know if adaptation measures which focus on climate change may be insufficient or even worsening. CCN-Adapt will map areas at risk of combined effects across Austria, it will explore combined adaptation measures by using Dynamic Soil-Vegetation Models, and it will provide guidelines for policy makers and conservation practitioners.
